Lost amid the Dallas Mavericks' championship celebration, ESPN commentator Mark Jackson called time on his stint behind the microphone - for now, at least.
Jackson is heading for his first head coaching role in charge of the Golden State Warriors and his departure will be a huge loss for fans all around the world.
A great motivator and one of the smartest point guards to play the game, Jackson will inherit a Warriors team blessed with massive potential - led by Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry - but in need of fine-tuning and defensive intensity.
As the man who coined phrases like "Hand down, man down" and "Mama, there goes that man", expect him to bring a new focus and fresh ideas to the Warriors. Jackson is not dodging the high expectations either, targeting a playoff spot in his first season.
